Thank you to the person who wrote the question above on Formspring. I'm not sure how much of your message I lost due to Formspring's text limit, but I think I get the general idea. You are asking:

1) why we don't write much about our daily rituals
2) whether we can write a post covering 24 hours that gives an example of how those rituals / rules impact on our daily life

If I've got that wrong, drop me another line and we'll sort it our further.

Let's look a question 1 first.

You are absolutely spot on asking this question. I've written quite a lot about rituals / protocols / rules and our daily life regarding them over the years, but I've just not posted most of it. Those posts are all sitting in my drafts box. Including an entire BDSM For Beginners series of several long posts on rules, rituals and protocols that I researched and wrote when I realized that sol and I also needed these things for added structure in our D/s relationship.

Why didn't I publish them? The thing is, I'm not sure the world needs more posts about D/s protocols or rituals because those people who actually live D/s lifestyles and have posted on this have done a great job.

However I said that about publishing my Aftercare series and my How To Contact / Find a Dominant series - and you all proved me wrong with your comments, pointing out that they did add something to what was there, if only because of my boring academic habit of collating documentation on what ever the topic is.

So, perhaps I should publish these posts. If I published them on the original time line that I wrote them, then the BDSM For Beginners Rituals and Protocols series would appear about eighteen months or so ago, with a series of posts following over the next few months explaining how our new rituals and rules were going. Or not lol. Whatever, it might help re the info you seek.

As to question 2:

Certainly I could post a day of our life but there are two things that concern me about doing that:

a) it places what we do out of context
b) it encourages people putting their own D/s rules and rituals together to copy what we do without knowing the why of it, and in regard to this subject the why of it - the need to construct personalized rules and rituals, not copy what you've read elsewhere -is extremely important

What would provide context? Publishing all those draft posts lol.

I was just asked over on formspring about recommending some kinky podcasts.

I've been a fan of podcasts for a while. Australia is a big country. We spend lots of time traveling around it. Listening to a podcast - vanilla or kinky - is a great way to pass transit time.

There's been a list of podcasts on Mistress160's Abode for several years now, thank you to the person who asked this question, because now I have a good excuse to update it. Lots of people are creating kink / BDSM / fetish podcasts these days. Some are more professionally produced than others, but everyone seems to have a lot of fun putting them together. Some are interviews with people in the scene, others are more educational in structure.

For someone starting out in BDSM as well as someone who's been playing a while, they provide a good resource. It's worth checking out a few and downloading them for when you have some time.

I've used various resources to put together the list of BDSM / kink / fetish podcasts below. Most are in English. I've not listened to all of these and not all are still being produced. But some of the old ones are definitely still good ones.

What do we listen to? Quite a few. American ones ... we're Masocast addicts lol. Sol and I download every episode. I like podcasts with an educational slant like Greydancer's Ropecast and also The Dark Side because I always learn something. Erotic Awakening can be bright and chatty and perfect for long car trips, plus great interviews. Really I'm only touching the absolute surface mentioning these, so many interesting podcasts are available.

Over in the UK, House of Tanos' podcasts always feature lots of good stuff about local events, plus solid educational content. Tanos also runs Kinky Podcasts (www.kinkpodcasts.com) which is a good place to start your own podcast research. Kinky Podcasts lists podcasts from all around the world ... you'll find updates on Twitter (KinkPodcasts). There is also another good list of podcasts at Masocast.

Some podcast producers also produce videos. I might post separately about that. You've got enough to do going through the list below!
