It's nearly Love Our Lurkers Day :)

It's nearly that time of year! Bonnie writes:

Yes, we do love our lurkers, and next Thursday, we will demonstrate that love. November 10th is the date for our sixth annual Love Our Lurkers Day.

For those unfamiliar with Love Our Lurkers Day, it's an annual event dedicated to appreciating and recognizing our silent readers. The idea is that each blog invites their readership to leave comments. We don't wish to compel anyone to speak, but for those waiting for their invitation to become part of the group, this is their day.

All bloggers are invited to join in the celebration. All readers are encouraged to leave comments. Last year, we had 110 blogs participating and 2,627 total comments. It was a lot of fun for everyone and we met many new friends.

If you are a blogger who would to meet your lurkers, all you need to do is create a post for LOL Day on November 10 and then respond to their comments. I will maintain a running list of participants. If you send me an e-mail when your post is up, I will add a link to your blog.

Along with creating your LOL post for November 10, I ask you to pass the word to spanking/Ds/DD bloggers who may not read MBS. We want this event to be as inclusive as possible.

Let's make LOL Day 6 our best community event ever!

Last year was our first time joining LOL so we are just starting, really. 5 people commented last year, which was great, most of them kindred spirited bloggers who've I've sincerely enjoyed reading. A few lurkers wrote to me privately at Fet rather than commenting on the blog, and that's fine as well. They were being very courageous in crossing the divide and saying anything at all. That's what LOL is about, after all.

As Bonnie says, Love Our Lurkers Day is "dedicated to appreciating and recognizing our silent readers". And there's a lot of you out there reading this blog regularly. I hope you know sol and I really do appreciate your dropping in to see what we've been up to, and what BDSM education we are trying to impart. We're glad there's a Day dedicated to you.

And sometimes too you drop out of nowhere and make us smile. I'm not a big one for promoting this blog (or BDSM For Beginners), I hope that people will find it when the time is right and they need it. But some unexpected praise just arrived over at my live Journal account, where I've left a short piece of text that reads:

Well, turned out I was pretty useless at maintaining this journal, lol. I'd suggest anyone wanting to know what I'm up to comes to visit me at Mistress160's Abode.
