Sara Eileen, who was being interviewed by Axe, very generously described me as "very cool" in the latest Masocast episode "I Would Rule the World" (at about the half way mark in the interview, if you want to check me on it).
She was talking about her experience with the Australian scene a few years back. I won't comment on that, although you'll find some posts here from that time if you search under her name. But I will say that I did sympathize with Sara, re her post Floating World exhaustion, which she mentioned during the interview. We felt like that after helping with The Gathering. Sara is spot on when she says:
"I think events like Floating World are important, events in general are important things that allow us to create temporary worlds where we really live the identities that we can't live on a day to day basis. Some of us can, and those of us are very lucky. Some of us can't, and it's good to have a space where we can do that. Have a space where we get to learn from amazing people, where we get to meet new folks, where we get to have this temporary autonomous zone that allows for this amazing amount of freedom. There are very few opportunities to build worlds like that, and that's pretty fucking amazing, to be able to do that.
"And I care about that. And I think the community cares about that. And the community responds, and gives back, and says "this was great, thank you, it was fantastic".
Anyway, have a listen.
The other thing I wanted to mention was that Masocast is now hoping to include a Kink Around The World segment now and then. So readers around the world, if you'd like your local scene featured I'm sure Axe would love to hear from you :)
PS: donating to Masocast will result in the very best kinky karma....
