Surfers Paradise = ice cream + luggage bondage

We loaded The Xmas Present into the back seat and headed interstate on Sunday morning, to spend the afternoon with friends at Surfers Paradise, on the Gold Coast.

We waited for our friends downstairs at their 5 star hotel:

While we were waiting a Japanese tour bus pulled up. The tourists were not on it, they were obviously off enjoying one of the Gold Coast's many attractions. Only their luggage remained ... weirdly, all the cases were the same style, perhaps you have to agree to provide matched suitcases. It certainly made it easier for the staff to move all the group's luggage inside quickly.

Looking through the glass windows behind the XP and sol, I was rather amused to watch staff "rope" the luggage together:

Then "herd" it into a corner:

Hmmm ... a few of those nets would be useful for sub hunts, I thought. Wonder where I can acquire one?!

We then headed off with our friends for a walk around Surfer's, ending up at an ice cream place of course. Their creations were definitely worth taking photos of:

We spent a very pleasant afternoon catching up with the_engel (who I had met through ClubFEM - NSW events) and her lovely pet pvcPixie. We wanted to bundle them into the back seat with the XP and take them home for the rest of their holiday, but sadly we had to say goodbye and leave them to explore the Gold Coast's hot spots. So to speak :)

" I definitely want one of those luggage bondage nets for my birthday, please", I told sol on the drive home...
