"Cyber Queen Future Fashion" exhibition, Sydney

If you are in Sydney for Mardi Gras you might like to check out the Cyber Queen Future Fashion exhibition at Tom Dunne Gallery in Surry Hills. I'll write a proper review in a few days but just wanted to post this now.

Cyber Queen Future Fashion:
"is an official 2009 Sydney Mardi Gras event and a proud supporter of ACON a leading HIV/AIDS agency

"A breathtakingly beautiful celebration of futuristic fashion, beauty and style integrating technology, art and innovation. Future Fashion is a sleek, sexy, striking and conceptual exhibition delivering an avant-garde vision of electronic fashion and style leading us into a new age of wearable technology, android beauty and cyber elegance"
The costumes really are stunning, as is the accompanying photography, which is for sale. You can also check out the artist's My Space page - and if you are attending the Mardi Gras Party you will have another chance to see the artist:
"Cyberqueen and the Blue Androids will perform a spectacular laser light show for Paul Oakenfold, the world’s number #1 DJ introducing the laser lights for the party at 1.00am in the Hordern Pavilion at the Mardi Gras Party 7 March 2009
You'll find directions to the gallery here. Enjoy!

World Naked Bike Ride!

It was such a beautiful poster I wanted to share it with you ... and the cause is a pretty good one as well!
"World Naked Bike Ride (WNBR) is being organized and supported by many different groups. The groups are only connected by their determination to all be naked on their bikes June 11th, riding in celebration, jubilation to deliver a vision of a cleaner, safer, body-positive world to the masses. Yes, we have many great reasons to be celebrating June 11th with all the glory of naked two wheel sanity. It's time to join hundreds of naked compatriots in a free, non-sexual, fun bike ride!
Who takes part?
"People from all walks of life and beliefs. We have families with children, engineers, university professors, carpenters, environmentalists, sport cyclists, gardeners, multimedia artists, bike activists, naturists/nudists, social activists, therapists, poets, city workers, lots of college students, artists, millionaires, people who are living in poverty, Burning Man people, union workers, union organizers, legal professionals, people who are just curious what it would be like to ride — people just like you! You would be surprised!
Do you have to be completely starkers?

No! Nudity isn't required to participate in this ride. All rides around the world are clothing optional. The dress code is 'bare as you dare', so please try to challenge yourself. Wear as little as you can while still feeling comfortable about it.

Last year, people came wearing shorts, bra-tops, swim-wear, body paint/masks, etc. There will be plenty of people who will cycle fully nude, so don't feel that it is your duty to do this if you aren't comfortable showing all of your body. Many people find they get more confident as the ride progresses, so feel free to peel off as you go!

Am I going to do it? Possibly. I'll certainly make sure sol takes part in our local ride next month:).

You can read more about WNBR on their website here, and also find a list of places which are taking part. If your local town is not yet on the list then why not organize a ride yourself?! You will also find a Discussion Group here.

Valentine's Day

I loved hearing about all the things my friends had planned for Valentine's Day but we decided to spend the day quietly. I think we are all still in shock from last week's horror -"Australia's biggest natural disaster" left 181 people dead, more than 1,800 homes destroyed and 7,000 left homeless. Not really a week you could celebrate.

Sol, The Xmas Present and myself hopped in the car and headed for the coast. My kinky concession to a vanilla day was to wear my black jodhpurs and rubber riding boots. "I'd admire your ass in that outfit even if I wasn't married to you" said sol.

The rain had been very heavy the last few days and some roads looked like this:

The irony didn't escape us. At the same time friends like Miss Bonnie were in danger of losing their homes and lives in bush fires down south, further north we were bring flooded out.

An hour or so later we were pigging out at our favorite fish and chip place in Byron Bay:

Where we introduced The Xmas Present to chips:

Then we walked to my all time favorite beach. The water and sky were wild and stormy, but warm. It was exhilarating to walk along the sand. Sol and the XP had visited a beach before when she was a very small puppy, but this was my first time with her in the sand and waves:

She adored the water. But she adored playing Leash Game with sol even more:

The XP is the only dog I know who re-attaches herself to her leash when you let her run free ... hmmm, a restraint and bondage puppy ... yep, I've definitely a kinky dog!

We were all very very wet by the time we got back to the car. The XP slept in my arms all the way home. At 9 kilos she's getting a bit bit for that, but her solid, peaceful warmth was wonderful.

We spent the evening watching kink.com porn. Sol cooked dinner. And I'm afraid I was very boring and went to sleep in his arms, no kinky sex or anything. Apart from the no kinky sex, lol, it was the perfect end to a perfect Valentine's Day. Hope you had a good one :).

Win a man slave!

Oh I bet the title of this post got you all going!

Is Ms160 auctioning off sol?! Nah. Reality is much more ... well, real.

One of the joys of eco kinkster-ing is the Weekend Wash. Where we pile up all our washing and the Xmas Present and take everything to the local self serve laundromat. Because when you are on tank water, washing machines become a dangerous luxury that wastes water.

The XP waits patiently outside while we use the washing machines and dryers. If we do the Wash on Saturday we snaffle the weekend newspapers and head for a favorite coffee shop. But on Sundays the little town is quieter and we tend to read the old women's magazines in the laundromat. You never know that treasures you'll find.

Suddenly sol snorted. "What are you reading?" I asked. He showed me the cover of CLEO magazine, then the particular page inside that made him laugh. "Win a man slave!" the page screamed.

Enter our contest "because every girl needs a hand to, you know, comb her hair, cook, put toothpaste on her toothbrush..." it continued:
"If your to-do list is endless and your schedule is thankless, you need a man slave to save the day. And you need him fast. Luckily, CLEO, together with Linq Promotions, has one on offer, and not only is he deliciously hot, he’s also ultra handy.

"All you need to do is tell us, in 25 words or less, “If you won a man slave for a day, what would you make him do?” Email your name, address, age and answer to cleomensexyou@acpmagazines.com.au"
I promptly fell about laughing. Had CLEO started promoting pure Femdom, in a truly tacky way? I checked out the date of the magazine: last year. "I wonder how this ended up", I mused as we folded our clean, warm clothes. "I mean, who won? What man became her slave?? Some guy from co organizer Linq Promotions, I guess. They do say "Linq Promotions provides promotional staff to Australia, for marketing events, trade shows, exhibitions, etc". Perhaps being a man slave comes under "etc"?!"

Intrigued, later I looked for the contest online and was interested to find the following in an article titled "Sex still sells, but who’s on top? An Examination of Current Prevailing Community Standards on Sexualization and Gender Equality in Advertising"

"in 2008 ‘CLEO’ magazine ran a competition where entrants could win the use of a male “slave” for a day. The advertisement complained of was a radio ad featuring a female voice asking “OK, let’s check the list...bushes trimmed? Dog’s walked? Leaking tap fixed?...My full body wax?...Just kidding – let’s get you into a singlet and out in the garden, cowboy.”

"The ad received complaints which included this one: “The advertisement is out of step with community values, and objectifies males in an inappropriate light. Such advertising is frequently objected to when women are involved or objectified and the same standards apply to males.”

"The ASB considered that the complaint was chiefly directed at the type of prize on offer (or the product), that of having a male in servitude, rather than anything arising out of the advertisement itself. Despite the advertisement containing a mild element of vouyerism (eg. “let’s get you into a singlet and out in the garden, cowboy”) there was nothing in the advertisement which offended the Code and it was dismissed"
LOL. Sure someone had to complain about something! If not the contest then the magazine itself. "The problem with teenage girl magazines", pontificated an online article "What is your daughter reading":

"is that they give highly suspect information, they create misconceptions about sexuality, they reinforce stereotypes about male and female behaviour and they show craven irresponsibility in their disregard for the emotional maturity of their readers"

Absolutely. Dreadful things, those magazines. They are full of sex, the author of the article exclaims. True. CLEO is the worst. But old copies are so much fun to read at doctor's surgeries and laundromats.

Meanwhile I'll keep an eye out to see if CLEO makes the "man slave" contest an annual event. I definitely need another man slave to help sol with the laundry!

The fine art of sharing a bed...

No this is NOT a post about marriage or kinky sex....

These photos are for the friends who ask how the Xmas Present and our very elderly cat are getting on. The photo below gives a better idea of how they share the bed ... but I especially love the top photo, where just the cat's ears are visible!
